I then went on to study herbal medicine more in depth from Union University in Los Angeles and received a Master's degree in Herbology in 1985. I find the use herbs in conjunction with acupuncture and integral part of being a complimentary agent in enhancing the power of the treatments.
I have also had extensive training in the use of essential oils and implemented them into my practice as I find them a perfect compliment to Chinese medicine. I use pure medicinal grade essential oils.
After finding the oils and supplements to be a powerful addition to a health regime, I wanted to share this information with as many people as I could. I returned to teaching to educate people in becoming self empowered in supporting their health and well being using the oils and nutritional supplements as a part of their daily healthcare.
I have had extensive training in the use of essential oils at Bastyr University where I studied, The Foundations and Chemistry of Aromatherapy and Essential Oils. I find essential oils to be the perfect adjunct to any healthcare practice. I use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade doTERRA Essential Oils.
I also teach the clinical application of essential oils. This is a powerful but easy to learn process of layering oils along the spine, that has the ability to take the body out of sympathetic dominance (fight/flight...stress response) and put the body into parasympathetic dominance (rest and healing response). In addition, I teach a course at the Heart Touch Project in Santa Monica, "Essential Oils in the Hospital Setting. Both courses include the foundations of understanding what essentials oils are, how they work, and how to use them.
My specialties include, but not limited to: pain management, immune and auto-immune support, sinus/allergy and upper respiratory diseases, hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, cholesterol and blood sugar management, detox protocols (including candida), and work/emotional stress related issues.
